Youghal, a heritage town on the East Cork coast has been a favorite seaside holiday destination for several years. This picturesque town occupies a commanding position it the estuary of the river Blackwater. The area was once well wooded as is clear by the name Youghal which is derived from the Irish word Eochaill, meaning ‘yew wood’.

Modern day Youghal is a lively town with brightly painted shops, cafes and pubs lining its main street. It is well-known for its quaint streets; it’s history, seafood restaurants and traditional pubs.

There is much to entertain the whole family, from Perks Funfair in the Town who have over 80 years of practice in the leisure industry to quiet beach walks etc. There are a number of festivals to look out for, including the annual Maritime Festival which takes place on the 21, 22 & 23 July.
