Tra na Scoile is named after the nearby shingled beach to which our guests have access. This beautiful house overlooks the picturesque Ballycravane Harbour at the end of Coolagh Bay on the Kenmare Bay side of the Beara Peninsula in West Cork.

Within a short drive are the popular villages of Eyeries (2 miles) and Ardgroom (4 miles) both of which are famous for their traditional music sessions in the local pubs. Here you will find small supermarkets, a Post Office, plenty of pubs, good restaurants and petrol stations.

The famous natural harbour of Castletownbere is only a 7 miles drive from Tra na Scoile. It also features a number of shops, pubs and restaurants. Bicycle Hire is also available. A trip to Castletown (as is it known locally) would not be complete without the short Car Ferry journey over to Bere Island, the most Westerly point of Ireland.

The Beara Peninsula is a wild and rugged place which emanates beauty from every corner. Around every corner is another beautiful vista to take your breath away. The Peninsula should be enjoyed at a leisurely place whether explored by car, by bicycle, or on foot.

Ballycravane Harbour is a particularly beautiful corner of the Beara Peninsula offering quiet and sheltered waters for activites such as canoeing or sailboarding.

For the Fisherman, there are many recognised sea fishing locations around Coolagh Bay. Tackle and bait can be purchased locally in Eyeries. Boat fishing can also be arranged from Ballycravane Harbour.

THE ACCOMMODATION

Tra na Scoile is a traditional one and a half storey house with panoramic views of the mountains and the sea. The open plan living/dining area is both spacious and filled with light. There is also a separate study/tv room for those who want to get away!

Upstairs in the landing area there is space to sit and enjoy the wonderful views. There are three bedrooms - one double ensuite and two twin bedrooms with separate bathroom. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. This charming house is not suitable for families with young children.

Outside there is plenty of private parking and the rear of the house boasts a large patio area shielded from the breeze by a glass partition. Patio furniture and BBQ are supplied.

This is a new house and there is still quite a proportion of the surrounding land which remains untamed. There is plenty of space for the guests to wander and enjoy, however there are some steep drops so care is advised.

Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens….
